I highly recommend Mr Platt. I am 4 weeks post op and could not be happier with the results. And that’s all thanks to Mr Platt listening to what I wanted to achieve, and advising me and guiding me in the right direction the get the best possible outcome. He is very thorough and highly professional. And I felt comfortable and put my trust in him from the first consultation.
Thank you Mr Platt and his team.
I was referred to st hughes regarding my long term shoulder and elbow pain and the consultant I saw was lovely and eventually I felt at ease . However my experience on arriving could have been handled better. I called the week prior to my appointment to accept it and also to ask if my carer could attend with me as i also suffer terrible anxiety and have dizzy spells. The lady i spoke to was reassuring and said it was not a problem and she would put it on my file for when i attended. Upon arrival, the staff on the entrance was very quick to point put i had to attend alone of which i explained why i wasnt . She went off to ask if it had been logged, and in the room where other staff where I heard them say, " they all say that". This I assume was the comment to someone suffering anxiety . At this point I was beginning to get very anxiety and my stress levels where rising. They eventually let my carer I with me . The staff member also told us to put masks on, of which both myself and carer where already wearing. My anxiety was rising and felt like walking out. Luckily for me, the consultant was lovely and didnt mind my carer being in the room with me. I've been to this hospital a few times and my father has his cancer checks here, and have never come across such rude and uncaring staff. All I can say is I know times are hard at the moment , but rudeness and assuming someones illness is not called for. We dont all lie or fain illnesses. There are a lot of us who are genuine. I hope this review is read by st hughes and the staff make sure that if they are assuming someone just says that and we all lie, please make sure that patient can not hear that. Thankyou for adding to my anxiety.
My experience at St. Hugh's Hospital over the last 3 months has been excellent. After being in considerable pain not being able lift my left arm for over a year the Rheumatology Consultant at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital referred me to Mr. Aravind Desai at St. Hugh's who fully explained and involved me in all decision making for performing a cuff repair operation.
The Hospital staff were all friendly, helpful, professional and made the whole experience relatively stress free. At this difficult time with covid I had the confidence that all cleanliness measures and extra precautions were being taken to keep the hospital covid free.
I would fully recommend St. Hugh's Hospital to relatives and friends, after only 3 months I have my arm movement back with 90% less pain.
Only small communication difficulties between departments could have been improved, which did not impact on my care.
All the nurses at St Hughes Hospital we’re great they looked after me really well and the room and whole place was lovely and clean!
Fantastic experience, unbelievable results couldn't be more happier Mr platt he an excellent sugeon.
Dr Aravind Desai operated on my left shoulder. From arriving at the hospital to going home the same day everything from my care to the lady who made me a cup of tea was brilliant. I am on the road to full recovery.
A big thank you to my Doctor he fixed me xx
St Hughs hospital was very clean
I was. Treated by Mr Aravind Desai who gave me what I wanted to no about what he was going to do on shoulder . I healed well, and can only thank him for all he done.
I cannot make any suggestions since the care I received was second to none. The staff we pleasant and caring both before and after the procedure and the facilities were wonderful. They could not have been more helpful. The after care was also wonderful as regards physiotherapy etc. I always felt welcome.
My wife was seconded to St. Hugh's by Louth Hospital and from the very start we were impressed by the treatment we received from all members of staff. After examinations and X rays it was decided that a reverse shoulder operation was needed to free her from the almost continuous pain she was experiencing. In June of 2019 Mr Aravind Desai performed the operation, which time proved to be entirely successful. In February 2020 my wife was given a final examination and everything was healed and mobility was near normal and more importantly painless. We can't thank Mr Desai and his team, and indeed all the staff at St.Hughs enough for their care and consideration. My wife Mrs.Heather Oakes would like to thank all involved with her treatment and care.
